Central Crossing High School Families:

As you are aware, we will transition to the Remote 2.0 learning mode effective Monday, November 30. This learning model will continue through Friday, December 18.

Remote 2.0 Schedule:

All teachers will be using Google Classroom as a common location for important class information. Teachers will also be providing daily live interaction for students. In order to provide a schedule that minimizes overlap between classes and live sessions from teachers we will be following an abbreviated schedule throughout the day. Click below to view the daily schedule while on Remote 2.0.

CCHS Remote 2.0 Daily Schedule

Students should follow their schedule throughout the day to maximize learning opportunities provided by teachers. Additionally, teachers will be creating pre-recorded instruction for students that may not be able to attend every live session. Contact information for teachers is posted on our Parent Hub, located on the school website.

During this time period it remains important to contact our school attendance line at (614) 801-3395 to let us know within 24 hours if your child has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. Please leave your name, child’s name, grade, and a contact number so you can be contacted for additional information.

Close contact is defined as:

  • Being within 6 feet of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 for a total of 15 minutes or more. This is cumulative.

  • Providing care at home to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19

  • Being in direct physical contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 (hugged or kissed them)

  • Sharing eating or drinking utensils with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Thank you for helping to keep the members of our school community safe and slow the spread of COVID-19.

Food Distribution:

The Food Services Department is excited to continue to provide weekly meals for our students. Selected schools will be open for meal distribution as well as selected bus routes in the district where we will be distributing meals.

To receive meals during this time:

  • Parents/guardians will not need to pre-order meals.

  • Students do not need to be present to receive meals.

  • Parents/guardians do not need to pick up meals at the school that their student is enrolled.

  • All student groups can receive free meals (Green, Blue, VLA, etc.)

  • Meals will be distributed on Mondays and Wednesdays only from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at selected schools and selected bus routes.

  • Please check the food distribution sites page for more information.

Food pick up at Central Crossing High School will be in the rear of the building (cafe courtyard entrance).

Chromebook Help/Support:

Students that have not been issued a SWCSD chromebook may sign out a device beginning on November 30 on Monday and Wednesday (11:00 - 1:00). Use the cafe courtyard entrance in the rear of the building. Devices that are broken and unable to be used may be exchanged during the same time.

For technical assistance regarding a district chromebook please email chromebookhelp@swcsd.us.

We appreciate the support you provide our students on a regular basis and are thankful for all within our community. Happy Thanksgiving!

CCHS Students & Families:

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! My name is Mr. Steve Fairs, and I am proud to serve as the new principal for Central Crossing High School. Previously I have been both a math teacher and assistant principal in the South-Western City School District. Additionally, I am fortunate to have worked at CCHS since the building opened in the Fall of 2002. This school year is beginning like no other in our history. We are fortunate to have fantastic students, dedicated staff, and supportive families to make the best of every situation.

Our decisions at CCHS will be grounded in three areas:

  • Wellness and Safety of Students and Staff

  • Providing High Quality Instruction and Learning Opportunities

  • Building a Strong Sense of the Central Crossing Community

Our theme for the 2020-2021 school year is RESILIENCE. Resilience can be defined as the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties. There is no time like the present school year this is more applicable and needed. Please help us by encouraging students to work hard, try their best, and seek assistance whenever needed. Together we can build this attribute in our students and reap the benefits.

As you are aware, we will be beginning the school year in our Remote 2.0 learning environment. Additional details will be shared next week regarding daily scheduled live instruction and interaction with teachers during Remote 2.0.

A few additional items that we would like to share:

Chromebook Exchanges: For those who have borrowed a SWCSD Chromebook that needs repair, we will be exchanging devices next Tuesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 20 at each of our four high schools (Central Crossing, Franklin Heights, Grove City, and Westland) from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. Signs will be posted regarding the procedures that need to be followed. Please remember to wear a mask and appropriately distance yourself from others when in the buildings.

Remote 2.0 Chromebook & Materials Distribution: For those who are in need of a Chromebook and/or hotspot, we will distributing these tools on August 24, 25, and 26 from 8:00-10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Signs will be posted regarding the procedures that need to be followed. Please remember to wear a mask and appropriately distance yourself from others when in the buildings. A list of courses with materials to pick up will be provided next week. These materials will also be available for pick up at the same time.

Virtual Learning Academy Students: Those students enrolled in the Virtual Learning Academy will be receiving information on when and where to obtain their devices and tools separately.

Open House: Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2 (6:00 - 8:00 pm). This event will be held virtually, and additional details will be shared in the near future.

Freshman Comet Academy: This year our Freshman Comet Academy will be virtual. During the week of August 17 we will post and share videos that will give students an opportunity to hear from returning students about what it means to be a Comet, learn about extracurricular opportunities, and meet the staff.

Freshmen: Mr. Dana Ortman will once again serve as the Freshman Assistant Principal.

Sophomores: We would like to welcome Mrs. Deb Carver to CCHS. She will be the Sophomore Assistant Principal.

Juniors & Seniors: Mr. Jon Marshall will work with Junior and Seniors this year.

We are excited to start the school year and have the opportunity to work with students and families in all of our learning scenarios. Please reach out to the school should you ever have a question or concern.
